Firefighters in Bulgaria responded to 90 calls for accidents, and extinguished 59 fires on August 27 2007.
Most of the fires, 36, caused no damages, Interior Ministry reported. One third of the fires were in industrial or private properties.
The firefighters carried out 25 rescue actions and operations, Focus news agency reported. Two people were injured.
Firemen are still monitoring the contained fire in Topolovgrad municipality.
Some 22 machines, 75 firefighters form the towns of Haskovo, Kurdjali, Plovdiv, Stara Zagora and Sliven, 50 soldiers, 25 gendarmes, 30 border guards and local population took part in the extinguishment of the fire.
According to preliminary data, 110 million sq m of fields and 24.750 million sq m of forests were burned in the fire.
