Fines from 1000 to 5000 leva were imposed on the Djurkovo mine for the death of three miners in an accident in November 2007, labour inspection office in Smolyan said.

The fines were for violations of safety regulations leading to a decreased amount of oxygen in the mine, investor.bg said.

The mining company was fined 5000 leva and five officials were fined 1000 leva each for omissions.

The three miners died in an accident in the mine on November 28 2007.

The investigation in the case continued and safety regulation violations in the mine would be announced after the investigation was over, the labout inspection office said.
