Nearly 42.5 per cent of Sofia's citizens would not vote in the municipal elections in October 2007, says an Alpha Research survey made between September 14 and 17.
36.1 per cent would support the candidature of the current mayor of Sofia, Boiko Borissov, Focus news agency reported.
Borissov's rival Brigo Asparouhov would get 7.1 per cent of the votes, Martin Zaimov 6.5 per cent, Titi Papazov 2.2 per cent and Slavi Binev 1.6 per cent.
Alpha Research representative Boryana Dimitrova said at the time when the survey was made not all of the candidates had been announced.
In the elections for municipal counsellors 28.4 per cent of the people would vote for Citizens for the European Development of Bulgaria (CEDB), 8.4 per cent for Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP), seven per cent for the coalitions Union of Democratic Forces (UDF)-Democrats fro Strong Bulgaria (DSB), four per cent for Ataka.
Least people would vote for National Movement for Stability and Progress (NMSP), 1.6 per cent and Movement for Rights and Freedom (MRF), 0.8 per cent.
