34 ILLEGAL DUMPS CLOSED ON TERRITORY OF ENVIRONMENT INSPECTORATE BOURGAS

Since the beginning of 2007, 34 unregulated garbage dumps have been closed on the territory of Regional Inspectorate of Environment and Water Affairs (RIEW) Bourgas.

Total area of the dumps was 212 000 sq m, Focus news agency said.

The largest number of closed dumps were in Karnobat, 19, with a total area of 151 000 sq m. Three dumps were closed in the municipalities of Pomorie and Aitos, four each in Primorsko and Rouen, and one in Kameno.

From the beginning of 2007, RIEW Bourgas has drawn up 17 statements against mayors, civilians and companies for dumping garbage illegally and allowing illegal dumps.

Fines in Bulgaria range from 150 to 500 leva for individuals, and 700 to 2 000 leva for companies. State employees who allow illegal dumps could be fined up to 5 000 leva.

yes near sunny beach there is a few sites were they have dumped rubbish but this happens every were not just in bulgaria. these people that do this as no respect for there buetiful countries which bulgaria is, Not just that holiday makers dont want to come here and see that because like i say its bad for tourism, and also breeds infestations like rats and other things.
