Foreign investment in Bulgaria reached 3.2 billion euro by the end of October 2006, Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) data showed.
InvestBulgaria Agency executive director Stoyan Stalev told Darik Radio that the predictions were of 3.5 billion euro foreign investment by the end of 2006.
UK ranks as the biggest foreign investor in the country, he said. The country took the place of the leading foreign investor over the past years Germany.
Companies and individuals form the UK invested 1.1 billion euro in Bulgaria's economy. Almost the entire amount or 90 per cent, was invested in property.
Construction, real estate and tourism were among the most attractive sectors for foreign investors in 2006.
