A total of 154 million leva from the state budget surplus would be allocated to current road repairs, National Road Infrastructure Fund head Vesselin Georgiev said at a news conference.

The sum would be used to pay amounts due for repairs of 190 stretches of road, Georgiev said, as quoted by Focus news agency.

A separate 10 million leva will be used to design and monitor the building of parts of the Maritsa and Struma highways. Double that sum, 20 million leva, has been set aside to build parts of the Maritsa highway and three bridges.

State co-funding under the Transit Roads Project IV would be 15 million leva, Georgiev said.

Deputy Regional Development and Public Works Minister Dimcho Mihalevski announced that the ministry had allocated 44 million leva for 86 water infrastructure projects.

About 22 million leva would be used to improve the living conditions of Roma people and for street infrastructure.
