Krastanka Shakliyan became the 12th member of the Parliament (MP) to leave the parliamentary group of the National Movement for Stability and Progress (NDSV). She announced her decision on November 29 2007.
Shakliyan left not only the parliamentary group, but also the party, mediapool.bg reported.
“When one person does not feel comfortable at one place, this person should find another place,” Shakliyan said. She would remain in the current Parliament as an independent MP.
On November 27, four NDSV MPs were expelled from the party and its parliamentary group. Officially, the reason was political activities, which did not fit NDSV’s prestige and name.
A day later, seven other left the party voluntarily. They said that the party was not what it had been.
Shakliyan said she shared the opinion of her colleagues, who left the party of their own free will.
It is still unclear whether the former NDSV MP’s will form a new parliamentary group.
