102 KG HEROIN SEIZED AT BULGARIAS BORDER

Custom officers at the Kapitan Andreevo border checkpoint, between Bulgaria and Turkey, seized a record breaking amount of heroin on the evening of September 25 2007.

Officers seized 102 kg of the drug, worth 10 million leva, Bulgarian National Radio reported.

The drug was found in a Turkish truck travelling to the Netherlands.

According to its documents, the truck transported nuts. The heroin was hidden between the pallets in the truck.

The driver of the truck was arrested and an investigation has been launched.
