An exhibition of Thracian treasures from Bulgaria attracted 97 500 visitors to the Jacquemart-Andre Museum in Paris, Bulgarian archaeologist Nikolai Ovcharov said.
The Thracian treasures exhibition is traveling and was shown in Paris from October 14 2006 to January 31 2007, Focus news agency said. Nearly 1000 people visited the exposition each day.
Jacquemart-Andre Museum representatives said that the exposition was among the most successful ones to be hosted in the museum.
More than 200 articles and radio and television programmes were dedicated to the exposition during its stay in Paris. Most of the publications were in French national newspapers and magazines.
The exposition consists of 125 artifacts, most of them gold and silver. It will leave for Switzerland on March 14 2007. Bulgarian President Georgi Purvanov will open the exhibition in the Swiss city of Basel.
Ovcharov said that Bulgaria will continue co-operating with Jacquemart-Andre Museum, because of the big interest towards Bulgarian gold treasures. An exposition of Bulgarian medieval gold will probably be presented soon at the museum.
