10 PER CENT HIGHER PENSIONS INTRODUCED IN BULGARIA

The promised 10-per cent increase in the pensions becomes in force starting October 1 2007.

The minimal pension became nearly 103 leva, Bulgarian National Radio (BNR) reported. The social pension for age reached 76 leva.

Another Cabinet promise, the decrease of the insurance instalments by three per cent, was also introduced on October 1.

The instalment for pension decreases by one per cent, while the instalment for Unemployment fund drops by two per cent.

The Cabinet decided the pensions’ increase and the decrease of the instalments in the end of July 2007.
