Read the full comment Greenpeace in 2006 comes to the conclusion that estimates go from the above mentioned 9000 up to 200000, but that a number of around 90000 is more realistic. Whatever the truth - Chernobyl and Fukushima are clear signs on the wall that this technology should be replaced as soon as possible by cleaner, cheaper and more sustainable alternatives in the form of energy efficiency and a myriad of renewable energy sources. It can be done - it should be done.
