Strong winds and thunderstorms will prevail over Bulgaria on November 23 and overnight well into the following morning, according to the Bulgarian meteorologic website.

Eastern and northern regions of Bulgaria will be most affected. In the east, although temperatures will be unseasonably warm at about 20C, strong winds, at times reaching hurricane intensity, accompanied by rain, and thunderstorms, will be common.

Winds could reach up to 70 km/h in places like Gabrovo, Veliko Turnovo, Rousse, Razgrad, Silistra, Dobrich, Varna, Bourgas, Sozopol, Sliven, Yambol, and Haskovo, as well as other areas.

Average temperatures across Bulgaria will be between 11 and 16C, while Sofia will be cooler at about 9C. Strong winds and heavy rain will also affect the capital for most of the day, according to the report.

Poor visibility and hurricane winds are expected along the upper parts of most Bulgarian mountains. At elevation over 2000 metres, it will snow, the report said.
