US ambassador in Sofia James Warlick will appear in the second season of Bulgarian prime time drama series Stuklen Dom (Glass House), Bulgarian private channel bTV said.

Stuklen Dom, the most ambitious television series developed by a Bulgarian TV channel, focuses on the lives of three families that own a mall in Sofia and was compared by Warlick to ABC series Desperate Housewifes, bTV said in a statement.

Warlick started shooting on September 2 and will play the US ambassador for the series, although he will not be portraying himself, the statement said. He will speak Bulgarian during the scenes.

All shooting will be done in the US embassy, although not in Warlick's office, but another one closely resembling it in appearance, bTV said.

American ex-pat is 100% correct. No one has a monopoly on idiots, and you need to take a good hard look at yourselves, too. There are plenty of idiots all around the world, including Bulgaria. If you want to rant and rave about everything every government has done wrong, it would be an endless post.

I am tired of anyone, and any news program spewing propoganda, and not telling the truth from all sides. It's maddening to watch the news when I was home in the US last month, and it's maddening to see the posts [...]

Read the full comment and lack of knowledge of the issues from all sides sometimes.

While the US isn't angelic in it's foreign policy, to glorify other goverments is ludicrous, and it means you are conviniently forgetting their transgressions. So, we will give China a free pass for killing over 50 million people while Mao was in power, and how Chinese society is still recovering from this over 30 years after his death. Russia gets a free pass for eliminating free press by killing journalists who actually reported the truth on what was happening, such as Anna Politikovskaya. She wrote and wrote about all the problems, nothing changed, and they killed her. If she were alive, I'm sure Anna would cream anyone who would glorify Russia in a debate. She also wouldn't be too nice about the US either in my opinion on the foreign policy. Or there's Akkady Babchenko, the Russian soldier who wrote book on the Russian army in Chechnia that doesn't give either side glory, especially the glorified Russian army. Or there's Sarah Chayes, who wrote a very critical book showing how ineffective the US policy in Afghanistan has been since the US has gotten there. There is also the issue of the Roma in the EU, and the only real solution some people can think of is to ship them on a plane to India. The Roma are going to remain in the EU, and the EU, including Bulgaria, needs to actually find a solution not bred in hate, corruption, mismanagement, and mistrust.

In each case, very few take the time to listen to the truth and learn what is actually happening.

For future reference: North Korea and Myanmar are police states, not the US and Bulgaria. This is similar to using the reference to Hitler for anything you don't like. If Bulgaria is such a police state, then we all would have been arrested, jailed, beaten, and/or killed for our posts on here. Since we're all still typing stuff, then I guess the US and Bulgaria aren't police states. I'll have my friends let you know if I get taken to the police station and get beaten anytime soon.

Who on earth truly cares about a stupid TV show, are any of you really planning on watching it? Seriously? Shame on the Sofia Echo to even report on this garbage. I am confident that there are plenty of other newsworthy and relevant stories to publish (or for them, perhaps not). And then to have the entire conversation spiral downwards into an incoherent babble about US vs. BG and personal insults which are so ridiculous it's almost unbearable. Now if the conversation had discussed how stupid television has become everywhere, this would be far more entertaining and realistic.

Every thinking person knows that each country contains more than its fair share of monkeys. I have traveled fairly extensively and lived in a couple of places and I can tell you, that is a fact. No country has a monopoly of idiots!

Also, there is plenty of wrongdoing among the various countries of the world to go around. I would argue that most countries can take a good long discriminating look at themselves regarding how they treat their own citizens and/or their neighbors at one time or another in the past. It's not a pretty picture!

However, people are entitled to their opinions in this matter. Thankfully, no one is forced to like anyone. :)
