Martin Petrov on the verge of Bolton Wanderers move

Bulgarian winger Martin Petrov has negotiated terms with English side Bolton Wanderers and is certain to join the club, according to Bulgarian media, as reported on June 20 2010.

A day earlier, English media reported that the Manchester City player is on the brink of joining Bolton because he had undergone "a medical at Reebok", English media reported on June 19.

On June 9, the Citizens announced that they had released three players on a free transfer from their current squad, including the Bulgarian.

Along with Petrov, Sylvinho and Benjani were also to be released.

"Martin Petrov, Sylvinho and Benjani are senior players who will leave City this summer. All three are out of contract and free to negotiate deals at new clubs," the club said in a statement.

According to the Manchester Evening Post, the Trotters head a host of Premier League clubs competing to sign the Bulgarian international.

Petrov has also drawn further interest from Premiership clubs; Everton, Aston Villa and West Ham are also thought to be interested in the 31-year-old. Additionally, clubs from around Europe - France, Germany and Spain - are also interested in his services.
