The Asian Glory ship has arrived safely in Oman, Focus news agency quoted Captain Prodan Radanov, manager of the Varna branch of Zodiac firm, as saying on June 14 2010.

Asian Glory is UK flagged, owned by Zodiac. The pirates hijacked the vessel in the Indian Ocean at the beginning of January. The crew comprised eight Bulgarians, 10 Ukrainians, five Indians and two Romanians.

"The eight Bulgarian sailors will spend two or three days in the Asian country, where they will undergo medical examinations, after which they will return to Bulgaria. All Bulgarian sailors from the ship have been able to contact their relatives. The eight sailors from Asian Glory should return to Bulgaria before the end of the week," Captain Radanov told Focus.

Somali pirates released the Asian Glory ship, which has eight Bulgarians aboard, on June 11, the Ukrainian foreign ministry spokesman Alexander Dikusarov announced.

Asian Glory was escorted to Oman by a Royal Navy ship, the Bulgarian Foreign Ministry announced.

Asian Glory was boarded by pirates off Somali coast on January 1 2010. The pirates reportedly demanded $15 million in ransom. Supposedly, the figure was the "insurance of the ship and the value of the cargo – all vehicles included". The ship was reportedly ferrying 2305 Korean-made cars from Singapore to Saudi Arabia.
