Turkish jets have once again entered Greek air space and made a sortie over a Greek frigate, Kathimerini reported on June 10 2010.

According to the report, Greek diplomats lodged a complaint on June 9 in which they protested to the Turkish authorities following an incident on June 8 involving a formation of Turkish jets that flew south of the island of Chios.

According to Kathimerini, citing Greek defence officials, the formation of jets flew into Greek territorial waters and then past a Greek navy frigate.

Another such violation occurred in February when four F-16s and four Phantoms F-4s penetrated Greek airspace at the south-eastern island of Samos, a short distance from mainland Turkey.

In a more brazen intrusion, a Turkish naval vessel crossed into Greek territorial waters in March, headed west and sailed almost to Athens, the daily Greek Ta Nea reported.

The corvette reached cape Sounion on the Attica peninsula and the island of Kea, just south of Athens, before heading northeast into the Aegean sea and then proceeding towards the Dardanelles.

According to Ta Nea, this is the 11th such case of violation of Turkish naval vessels since November 7 2009, and the sixth in 2010 alone.

Good for a laugh? ... Greek territory or Greek Delusion? :-)

Too bad Greece, the Banana Republic of the EU, is such a tiny insignificant and as of late a 'bancrupt nation'!

mr semih those islands are close to Turkey because in Anatolia were Greeks too long before you came to the picture, was Greek both sides of Aegean sea what you want as to do drag them close to Greek mainland?

Anonymous mkz6 Mon, Nov 15 2010 08:51 CET

semith you think you can take those islands easy > man is not cyprus you try ,aegean sea will be red also the river Ebros ,man you are not a super power put in your head mussolini said the same thing and he had bad luck .

Semih, read the article again. It is Turkey that is violating Greek territory. I will give you the benefit of the doubt that you simply made a mistake but your comment is very telling that, to paraphrase you, "Turkey can take the Greek islands without reason". This is the mentality of the "zero problems with neighbors" country. Doesn't sound like a very promising policy.

also this violation that called in the news occured a touch distance from our homeland. what we should do?, should we drive the navy from ground like we did and took istanbul??:)they use limited space of international waters .

greek aircrafts are oftenly do this kind of penetrating to the Turkish airspace. we are not in the middle age, if we would be we can easyly take this islands from you with no reason.but we dont want it so. We want peace in all neigbours and middle east. but your provocations over the turkish waters and airspaces are much more than that we did to greece .

we are used to this. they started this since the 70s when we discovered oil in the Aegean and sine then we have stopped drilling. Since we haver may islands we control most of the Aegean. but since the Turks are still the middle age central asian looters they want to have half of the Aegean. so the provocations. to push us in capitulation.

Clear provocation.
What are the Turks up to?
