Three of the five suspects, Radosław M., Łukasz M. and Paweł S., will have to serve jail sentences ranging from 18 to 30 months, a Polish court in Krakow ruled.

The sentence could be passed without going to trial as the suspects had already confessed to the crime.

Apart from being sentenced to prison, the three convicted were fined 10 000 złoty (2 570 euro).

The remaining two suspects were still being held in custody, awaiting trial.

For the trial to take place, however, suspects and authorities will have to wait for the extradition of the alleged Swedish buyer, thought to have been behind the theft.
