An operation will be launched to raze illegally erected buildings along the Black Sea coast, Bulgarian media reported on March 22 2010.

In the town of Nessebar, illegally constructed permanent sheds attached to condominiums will be bulldozed, while a pair of two-storey houses built without appropriate paperwork in the borough of Mishelika on the south beach in Obzor, will also be flattened.

Four single storey buildings in the Kladeri region near the village of Emona, a swimming pool east of the Delta Hotel on Sunny Beach, a pedestal of steel and concrete, and a concrete platform on Nessebar's south beach will also be removed.

Additionally, a number of buildings in other Black Sea Bulgarian towns, such as Sozopol, Kiten and Chengene Skele near Bourgas, will also be bulldozed, the report said.

The town of Sveti Vlas has been ruined by so many buildings and I am sure the front line buildings with 5 storeys cannot be legal.

roof space, can hide another 3 floors,is this legal. I think this is pushing it a bit to high spoiling an area.

The only reason why they tear illigala buildings in Nessebar is because they are forced into it when Nezzebar is on UNESCO recognized World Heritage Sites and as such awards could have it removed from the list if it changes Nessebars state image.

Of course, this is not the sum total of illegal constructions. However, I assume that the owners of these condemed buildings have not made the necessary payments (wink, wink) to take them off the hit list.

Bravo!!! Good start, now also make the people who built them pay for destruction so the community isn't paying for it.

A good start carry on the good work. Dont forget the ugly ex commie blocks.

This surely can't be the sum totally of illegally built buildings on the Black Sea coast?

If those huge ugly hotels and villas that cover the headland at Sinemorets are legal, parliament seriously needs to look at what it considers planning on the coast to be.
