Turkish foreign minister Ahmet Davutoglu on state visit to Bulgaria

Turkey's foreign minister Ahmet Davutoglu was due to pay a state visit to Bulgaria on March 18 2010 as the guest of his opposite number Nikolai Mladenov.

According to a statement from Turkey's ministry of foreign affairs, Davutoglu will meet Bulgarian president Georgi Parvanov, Parliament's speaker Tsetska Tsacheva and prime minister Boiko Borissov during his stay.

Besides Turkey-Bulgaria bilateral relations, recent international and regional developments will be discussed during the meetings.

Davutoglu will attend a conference at the diplomacy institute of Bulgarian ministry of foreign affairs and deliver a speech on Turkish-Bulgarian bilateral relations, Turkey's perspective towards the Balkans and general aspects of Turkish foreign policy.

Following his visit to Sofia he will travel to Plovdiv to visit the historical Cuma Mosque together with Mladenov.
