Conan is rolling at Sofia's Nu Boyana studios

Lang (pictured here in Avatar) is currently co-artistic director (along with Carlin Glynn and Lee Grant) of the famed Actor's Studio at its headquarters in New York City.

Principal photography on the new Conan movie, directed by Marcus Nispel, and featuring Jason Momoa in the title role has started in Sofia. The three-month production takes place at Nu Boyana Studios.

Marcus Nispel’s previous movies include the remakes of Friday the 13th and Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Joining Momoa will be Ron Perlman - a late replacement for Mickey Rourke - as Conan’s father and martial arts champion Leo Howard as the young Conan. Other main cast members are Stephen Lang - who scored a significant hit as the chief villain in James Cameron's current 3D blockbuster Avatar - Rachel Nichols, Said Taghmaoui and Rose McGowan.
