Bulgaria’s smoking ban debate, continued

Fri, Mar 12 2010 09:59 CET 1768 Views 3 Comments
With reference to your edition dated February 26 – March 4 2010, and in particular to the comments by "Kristina" and "Gary".

The smoking debate could be discussed forever and a day. The UK, which imposed a total ban, has suffered a huge decline particularly in the pub/bar trade. Check the statistics about closures.

Yes, you non-smokers, you do have a case but try to compromise. Alternatively, press the Government for a total ban on tobacco sales. This should please you all, particularly when you receive your next tax bills. Have you any idea how much government tax internationally is raised through the sale of cigarettes?

If what we are told is correct and smoking is so dangerous, we are not going to claim our pensions which should give you intolerant people even more money in your old age. Stop being so obnoxious and naive and adopt a more tolerant attitude.

Tobacco and its by-product kills and maims people. Smokers have no right to kill or maim people that are forced to inhale the smoke by sitting in the same space as them. Katia, your argument is an absurd one -I hope your rant has made you feel better!

If those a##holes want to ban smoking because they fake-cough like trained Pavlovian dogs if you happen to be smoking 15 meters away from them, then I demand they ban the sickening fast-food chains that make me ill and all of the fast-food junkies here in the US will have to pay extra if they want to chomp on their sick GMO, MSG laced food-like hamburgers. And I won't smoke near you if you don't eat that stinky stuff near me.
