After Mickey Rourke and Jason Momoa, now Stephen Lang has arrived in Bulgaria for the shooting of the Conan the Barbarian remake.

The remake of the 1982 film that starred Arnold Schwarzenegger as Conan is directed by Marcus Nispel and produced by Nu Image/Millenium Films.

Momoa, best know for his role in Stargate Atlantis as Ronon Dex, is to play the barbarian warrior, with Rourke starring as Conan's father. Lang, last seen as Col. Miles Quaritch in Avatar, will play warlord Khalar Singh.

In an interview with MTV on Oscar night, Lang said: "I have no idea how I'm going to do it. First I'm going to find out how I'm going to sound. I'm going to get back on a Mongolian pony and ride like the wind. I'm going to flash my scimitar. I'm going to cut the nuts off Conan and his father."

The film, scheduled for release in 2011, is being shot at the Nu Image studios in Sofia and on location in Pernik.

I don't care what anyone says !
A Conan film made in this decade will be a brilliant film, using all the latest computer-wizardery.
And Conan was tanned brown by all his travelling! So there!

"Conan isn't black or brown either."

Urm, neither's Momoa. Momoa's half-Samoan, the other half Irish-German. A couple of recent pictures of his without the dreds and beard show he looks pretty close to the Barry Windsor-Smith depiction in the comics. If he can pile on some more muscle, he might even be pretty good.

But then, this film was doomed long before Momoa came on board.
