Moderate earthquake hits Greece

A moderate earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale hit Greece at 2:55 a.m. on March 9 2010, the website of the United States Geological Survey was quoted as saying.

According to the report, the epicenter of the quake was at a depth of about 30km, 95km north of Athens, just off the northern coast of the island of Evia.

The Greek authorities have so far not released reports of material damages or casualties.
