State leaders and the public gathered in front of Sofia's Memorial to the Unknown Soldier to commemorate those who died for the liberation of Bulgaria.

The ceremony was part of the commemorative events on the occasion of Bulgaria's March 3 national holiday which in 2010 marks the 132nd anniversary of the country's liberation from Ottoman rule.
