Bulgaria’s new candidate Commissioner to face hearing on February 3

European Parliament President Jerzy Buzek.

Bulgaria’s new European Commissioner-designate, named by European Commission President Jose Barroso as current World Bank vice-president Kristalina Georgieva, will face a European Parliament committee confirmation hearing on February 3 2010.
 
The plenary session of the European Parliament to vote on the Barroso II European Commission has been postponed from January 26 to February 9.
 
This was announced by European Parliament President Jerzy Buzek, as a consequence of the withdrawal of the nomination of Roumyana Zheleva.
