A special police operation dubbed The Insolents 2 was underway in Sofia, Interior Minister Tsvetan Tsvetanov said on Bulgarian National Television on December 22 2009.

Four arrests had been made, with a fifth suspect still on the run. All five were thought to have been part of a criminal gang involved in kidnappings.

Special forces were doing searches of several houses where kidnappers were thought to have kept their victims, Tsvetanov said.

The operations was headed by the Prosecution and had started during the night, Tsvetanov said.
One policeman was said to have been shot in the arm when a suspect resisted arrest, bTV reported.

The Insolents 2 is the continuation of a police operation that started on December 17, when police arrested 25 men, suspected to have been part of an organised crime group involved in several kidnappings in recent years.
