Maria Vassileva guest curator August in Art 2010

Organisers of the August in Art festival in the Black Sea city of Varna announced that Maria Vassileva would be the guest curator for 2010.
Vassileva, a well-known and respected art historian and critic, accepted the invitation in a difficult year, Bulgarian daily Dnevnik said.
Festival director Roumen Serafimov, who is also head of the directorate Cultural and Religious development at Varna Municipality, said about the selection "several years ago we decided that it was time to invite curators for the organisation of August in Art. In 2009, we invited Filip Zidarov, and for this year our choice was Maria Vassileva."
Vassileva, who is currently curator at the Sofia City Gallery, co-initiator of the Institute of Contemporary Art in Sofia and curator for the March 8 group, said she expected to have her curatorial concept ready by January.
Central ideas in the concept would be the time and place of the event; Varna in 2010.
"I would like this to show in the exhibition," Dnevnik quoted Vassiliva as saying. "That way, the exhibition will also be accessible to a wider audience," she said.
