CNN to show documentary on fall of communism in Bulgaria

Cable news network CNN International will show a documentary on the fall of communism in Bulgaria, part of its Autumn of Change series dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the unraveling of the communist bloc.

CNN anchor and reporter Ralitsa Vassileva, a reporter for Bulgarian National Radio and Bulgarian National Television when communism fell and during the first years of Bulgaria's post-communist transition, tells the story of Bulgaria's first steps towards democracy.

The 30-minute documentary includes interviews with Bulgaria's first president Zhelyu Zhelev, former vice president Atanas Semerdjiev, former foreign minister and the founder of the Atlantic Club in Sofia Solomon Passi, film director Evgeni Mihailov, former television journalist Neri Terzieva, politician Emil Koshloukov (who was imprisoned on political charges prior to 1989) and Tsetska Tsacheva, the speaker of Parliament.

The documentary will be broadcast on CNN International at 4.30pm Bulgarian time and 10.30pm on December 12, 11.30am on December 13, 3.30pm and 7.30pm on December 14.

Bulgaria never had a true revolution; no one was held accountable for the communist crimes against humanity!!
