In its first five months in office, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boiko Borissov’s Government has paid more monies under the EU’s operational programmes than its predecessor did in two and a half years.
The President-designate of the European Council, on a visit to Sofia, says that he understands the difficult economic situation in which Bulgaria finds itself, its great efforts to cope with the crisis, build a positive image and work towards adoption of the euro.
Bulgarian PM Boiko Borissov told the European Council that his country would put money into a proposed six billion euro fund for developing countries only if EU funds for Bulgaria were unblocked.
