Mild earthquake felt in southestern Bulgaria

A weak earthquake was felt in southeastern Bulgarian at 7.23am on December 7 2009, Bulgarian media reported.

The tremor measured 3.0 on the Richter scale.

According to the European Mediterranean Seismological centre, the jolt's epicenter was some 24km south of Svilengrad, four km north of Ivailovgrad and some 39km west of the Turkish city of Edrine.

So Far there have been no reports of material damage or casualties.
