Mild tremor in eastern Bulgaria

A mild jolt registering 3.0 on the Richter scale was felt at 2.14am in the eastern part of the country, the Bulgarian National Television (BNT) reported on November 23 2009.

According to the Seismological Centre in the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS), the tremor's epicentre was about 370km east of Sofia. It was felt mainly in the area around Balchik. Reportedly there were no aftershocks and seismologists told the BNT that such mild jolts are incapable of causing material damage or injuries.
