According to Simeon Dyankov, the U-turn on the proposed ban on smoking in public was meant to help the tourism industry overcome the crisis and would only last until 2011.
The full ban, which is due to come into effect in June 2010, would undermine the tourism industry, party representatives believe.

I fail to see why providing a properly ventilated smoking compartment at the end of a train, is such a problem. By not providing this smokers are lighting up illegally and annoying others. Would it not be better to provide them with somewhere to go?
Bulgaria does not seem to have adopted the zero tolerance bully state approach to smokers that we unfortunately experience here in the UK thanks to our government.
Great! Now how about long distance buses.
Don't these people know they are destroying their health and that of those around them. There doesn't seem to be any real concern at the damage this filthy habit is doing.
