Bulgaria's Foreign Minister Roumyana Zheleva will meet US secretary of state Hillary Clinton in Washington on October 23 2009, the US embassy in Sofia said.

Energy security is expected to play a significant role in the meeting, with transparency in energy contracts and diversity of supply as key points to Bulgaria’s energy strategy.

The agenda will also include other important issues such as a discussion on the progress made on the rule of law by the new Bulgarian administration, the embassy said.
