On the 86th anniversary of the Proclamation of the Republic, the ambassador of Turkey and Mrs Mehmet Gücük held a reception in the ballrooms of the Dedeman Princess Hotel in Sofia on October 29.

Movie awards

The Bulgarian nomination for best foreign-language film at the 2010 Oscars, The World Is Big and Salvation Lurks around the Corner, directed by Stefan Komandarev, won two full-length film awards at the 12th Benalmadena International Short Film Festival held in Malaga on October 16-24. The film won the jury and the audience awards, the first time in the festival’s history that one film won both awards.
