Bulgaria’s population at the end of 2009 was 7.5 million, according to the National Statistical Institute, a decrease of 0.6 per cent from 2008; the average age is 41.8 years – and the average duration of a marriage is 14 years.

To make it clear from the outset, the European Commission is not trying to create a standard EU-wide divorce system. Apart from it not having the power to try to do so, the wide divergence of divorce laws among EU countries probably would make the task impossible. What it is trying to do is to harmonise the rules on disputes about in which country to seek a divorce order. One of many complications in the issue is that most member states do not allow a couple to choose the law that will apply to their divorce.

Stefcho, what's the problem with what the church is doing?
Do you consider the Catholic church to be more to your taste where you don't get a divorce unless the Pope allows it?
What's the difference between the Pope allowing you to divorce to an Orthodox church allowing you the same thing? At least the Orthodox church allows you room for mistakes rectified easier than the Vatican does.
Perhaps the Islamic way is better. The husband tells his wife three times that he is divorcing her and bingo!!!they are divorced.

But if you are still not for this rule then perhaps just don't consider divorce at all. Nobody will force you into it.
You sound confused. What's the problem Stefcho?
WOW, I don't even have any words for this one. A church, 3 times? Unreal!!!!
