Bulgarian President on formal visit to South Korea

Bulgarian President Georgi Purvanov has arrived in South Korea, starting his Pacific Rim tour with an official visit following an invitation by his Korean counterpart, president Lee Myung-bak. The two heads of state met on October 26, Bulgarian National Television reported.
 
Purvanov and Lee Myung-bak will sign bilateral agreements on culture, social security and the protection of classified information. Earlier in the day, Purvanov visited the Hyundai car plant and the shipyards in Ulsan. 
 
Following the visit to South Korea, the Bulgarian head of state will pay a state visit to Australia at the invitation of governor general of Australia Quentin Bryce. This will be the first ever state visit by a Bulgarian President to Australia.
 
Apart from Purvanov, the Bulgarian delegation includes Economy Minister Traicho Traikov, Culture Minister Vezhdi Rashidov, Labour Minister Totyu Mladenov, Deputy Foreign Minister Marin Raikov, Deputy Economy Minister Evgenii Angelov and the head of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Tsvetan Simeonov.
