Three top officials from the Transport Ministry were dismissed by Transport Minister Alexander Tsvetkov on October 20, private channel bTV said.

Emanuil Radev was sacked as head of the Air Traffic Services Authority, Alexander Stanoev was dismissed as head of the Transport Construction and Rehabilitation state company and Anton Ginev was dismissed from his post as head of National Railroad Infrastructure Company.

The website of the ministry did not give the reasons for the dismissals. However, according to bTV, in Ginev's case it was a matter of corruption allegations and the poor financial state of the company he ran.

The National Railroad Infrastructure Company is facing bankruptcy and a general strike by its employees, who have demanded payment of delayed wages.

Ginev would be replaced by Milcho Lambrev, Radev will be replaced by Georgi Angelov, while Stanoev will be succeeded by Valeri Vassilev.
