Minor earthquake felt in Thessaloniki, Greece

An earth tremor registering 3.4 on the Righter scale was felt in Thessaloniki, Greece's second biggest urban centre, Greek media have reported on October 19 2009.

Greek seismologists from the geophysical institute of the University of Aristotle have triangulated the epicentre of the tremor at about 15km west of Thessaloníki in the north of the country. 

Greek media said that there are no reports of structural damage or injuries. The earthquake was not reported to have been felt in neighbouring Macedonia or Bulgaria.
