Survey: US most admired country globally

The US climbed from seventh place last year, ahead of France, Germany, the United Kingdom and Japan which completed the top five nations in the Nation Brand Index (NBI).

"What's really remarkable is that in all my years studying national reputation, I have never seen any country experience such a dramatic change in its standing as we see for the United States for 2009," said Simon Anholt, the founder of NBI, which measured the global image of 50 countries each year.

Gordon Brown did not need a public mandate to run our great nation. We have elections next year and we will choose our PM. People want to live in the UK and America why ? its the freedom you get to choose your own way of life and to prosper for a better standard of living. Well Vanko it seems you do not understand the best and most admired nations on earth long live the queen.

Er I dont think so COSMOS. Who exactly elected that idiotic Scot Brown to be prime minister. No freedom of choice there old mate!! There's no freedom of choice for the English voters in Scotland But they can elect mp's who run and control England from Westminster. All UK citizens are equal but some (Welsh, Scottish and N Irish )are moere equal than others (English). Time the English got the independence they deserve and I'm not even English!!!
