AES Geo Energy wind park in Kavarna linked to grid on October 6

The St Nikola wind park in the Kavarna municipality in northwestern Bulgaria was scheduled to be linked to the national electric grid network on October 6 2009, website investor.bg said, quoting a statement by AES Geo Energy.

The wind park consists of 52 turbines with a total installed power of 156MW. Electricity produced by the wind park is scheduled to reach the households in the region by December 2009, the report said.

Total investment in the facility exceeds 270 million euro, of which 223 million were provided by a bank consortium, which included the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development, the International Financial Corporation, UniCredit Markets & Investment Banking, and UniCredit Bulbank Bulgaria, investor.bg said.

AES Geo Energy is developing an additional wing complex project, with a contemplated total output capacity of 670 MW worth 1.3 billion euro in Gulubovo, Bulgaria. As part of the contract, AES will manage the Kavarna facility for a period of 20 years.
