Ku Klux Klan and neo-Nazis 'gathered in Bulgarian town' - reports

About 3000 neo-Nazis from all around Europe attend the "Day of Pride", among them Bulgarian skinheads in the centre.

Bulgarian police were investigating a gathering allegedly involving members of the Ku Klux Klan and neo-Nazis in the central Bulgarian town of Asenovgrad, Bulgarian news agency Focus said on September 2009

According to several media reports, the gathering occurred on August 12 2009, and it was held at the town library, BGNES said.

It reportedly took the form of a "rock concert" by extreme right-wing youths, and Bulgarian members of the KKK. The event was also attended by neo-Nazis from Switzerland and as far afield as Canada. Photographs of the concert were later found on white supremacist websites in Switzerland.

Special branch officers found that the setting used by the white supremacists, part of the town library in Assenovgrad, had been granted for free use to various people, and that the electricity bill had not been paid for several years.

Librarian Ekaterina Hristeva, who has been subsequently fired from her position, had given the hall's keys to a young man, a member of a local rock group.

The man said that reports of his alleged affiliation with white supremacist groups were complete nonsense.

The photographs secured by the authorities show Bulgarian, Swiss and Canadian skinheads and KKK members, wearing swastikas and giving the Hitler salute. Participants allegedly chanted "kill the Jew".

According to Plovdiv-based daily Maritza, the concert in Assenovgrad lasted five hours, while the performers were a local rock band "Rodna Zashita" (Homeland Defence).

.
Possibly the KKK will work in Europe, whereas now, it is a foolhardy tactic in the States; however, Lone Wolf and Cell Structure security must be observed at all times if success is truly the objective.

Valeri,
Hello Valeri, did you miss me? I don't remember making any comments on this issue but with that said, if you remember back when the L.A.P.D. bet the hell out of a black guy Rodney King, he had a press conference after he got out of the hospital and his comment 'Can't we all just get along' became a caugth phase in American. You will find hate in any country on this planet, we are not immune nor do I calm we are, we have a lot of red necks in the states, you should know, you're [...]

Read the full comment there so often. It's mostly in the South where they still fly the stars and bars if you know what I mean. Hate breeds hate, however free speech gives these guys the right to make themselves look like fools with bad hair cuts and spew garbage, I'm sure not one has more then a 6th grade education.
Nice to hear from you Valeri, have a nice weekend.

This kind of stupidities are raising in all over Europe. Neo-Nazis are active in Russia, in Sweden, in England. It's not only in Bulgaria. This right wing thinking can be seen even in elections; right wing is going strong now. Even in European Parlament some danish mep was saying his famous comment about Romanians and Bulgarians compared to Scandinavians. Frightening way, but I hope it doesn't get too strong.

It's a democracy, every one should have the right to their views. Who's to say they are wrong and anyone else is right? These attitudes change with wind anyway. Twenty years ago it was good to be communist now it's not. In the US it was good to have segregation, now it's not. Who knows what comes next?

Anonymous Valeri Tue, Sep 29 2009 23:36 CET

Hey Stefcho, what's up with all those American flags?
I thought you told us that you guys worked out your racial kinks.... Can we all get along?
;)))

Anonymous Valeri Tue, Sep 29 2009 22:42 CET

I think that this is great!
Asenovgrad can specialize in the NAZI Pride convention business, and Sofia with the Gay Pride Parades, and the related merchandizing, that way everyone is happy and we can all ride the economic slow down with less pain.
Sorry Chirpan, you are stuck with the Hypochondriac Dog Lover Society of the World, but I hear that they are pretty big with various keychains and cute animal buttons, not to mention the numerous opportunities for the more entrepreneurial
among Chirpan's numerous Bulgarian-Indian community to push designer animal drugs, or for [...]

So a bunch of stupid facist wanabees and fantasists gathered together - like the mindless sheep they are. They no more represent Bulgarians than the KKK in America (which is a legal organisation there!!!). Every western country has these morons, so why say Bulgaria is so terrible? The tone of the media and the people make it quite clear Bulgarians are not happy about this event.
