Bulgarian worker critically injured in Thessaloniki

A construction worker from Georgia, aged 51, was killed and a Bulgarian citizen, aged 50, critically injured following a work-related accident, Greek broadcaster Kathimerini  reported on September 17.

The seriously injured Bulgarian, whose identity is as of yet undisclosed by the Greek authorities, was rushed to Thessaloniki’s Ippocratio Hospital where his condition was reported as very serious.

Both men were working on the grounds of the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) when a wooden stand they were dismantling collapsed on them, the report said.

As of yet, there are no further details about the circumstances of the incident, nor the condition of the Bulgarian worker. The identities of the two workers were not disclosed.
