Because the outgoing ministerial team missed all deadlines, the new information technology course will have to go ahead without textbooks, Bulgarian Education Minister Yordanka Fandukova said.

As decided by former education minister Daniel Vulchev, eighth-graders in language and mathematical highschools will be taught information technology starting from the 2009/10 academic year, Bulgarian daily Monitor said.

No textbooks would be available as the outgoing ministerial team had missed all deadlines for approving the textbooks, Fandukova said. Nevertheless, the new class would still go ahead and be taught.

Instead of textbooks, the classes would be taught with the help of teaching aids, according to Monitor. What those teaching aids would consist of was not specified.
