The US Embassy in Sofia has organised an American jazz concert on Sunday, September 6 at 5pm in the Borissova Gradina in Sofia, to mark Unification Day and the end of the summer, an official embassy press release has informed.

The concert is free and everyone is invited. The embassy-sponsored event will feature American Jazz played by the Ari Roland Quartet.

This event is the last in a six-part series sponsored by the US Embassy for its "Summer of Jazz" programme in the country.  Before their concert in Sofia, the Ari Roland Quartet is also scheduled to perform at the UBB Club in Sozopol on September 4 at 11 pm for the Apollonia Festival.

The Ari Roland Quartet hails from New York City, consisting of Ari Roland on double bass, Chris Byars on tenor saxophone, Sacha Perry on piano, and Keith Balla on drums.  Founder Roland has played with world renowned jazz musicians such as Betty Carter, Harry Connick, Jr., and Wynton Marsalis.
