Rock in Rila for a seventh time

The Rock in Rila fest will be held for a seventh time running, this year on August 29 2009 in the village of Beli Iskur, near the mountain resort of Borovets in Rila Mountain, starting 7.30pm.

At the time when Madonna will be warming up for her Sofia concert, five Bulgarian rock bands will perform on the open stage at Beli Iskur stadium.

As in previous years, the fest has its focus on young Bulgarian rock performers. Rock veterans will be represented by legendary Bulgarian blues singer Vasko Krupkata (the patch) and his Poduene Blues Band.

Camping is available near the village for fans. Entrance to the fest and pitching a tent is free of charge.

Through the years, Rock in Rila had presented to the fans some of Bulgaria's most prominent rock musicians, such as Shturtsite, Signal, BTR and Vasko Krupkata. As early as its first year, the event managed to gather more than 5000 fans from all over the country.
