An 11-year-old boy from Sliven was admitted to hospital in Varna on August 25 2009 after being hit by a jetski at the Bulgarian Black Sea city’s Golden Sands resort.

A statement by medical staff said the incident happened after the child went to swim near the area of water set aside for jetskis.

An instructor started to remove jetskis from the water because of strong waves, one of which suddenly propelled the jetski forward, hitting the boy and causing chest and other abdominal injuries, Bulgarian National Television reported.
