A British woman and her grandchild were reportedly killed in a car crash near Bulgaria's Black Sea city of Varna late on Friday night.

The dead grandmother and grandson were aged 54 and 11. Another British boy, aged 10, was injured in the accident which also killed a Bulgarian adult in the same car.

Reports indicate a car with UK licence plates failed to heed a stop sign and was hit by a bus. The bus was empty, and its driver escaped unhurt, according to Darik Radio.

The dead tourists have not yet been named but their next of kin have been informed.
