American rock legends ZZ Top will perform in Bulgaria for the first time in their long and illustrious history, in an event organised by Balkan Entertainment Company, a company press release has said.
The show is set for October 21, at Academic Stadium in Sofia at 8pm. Tickets are available at
www.eventim.bg as well as the Piccadilly retail chain, plus Germanos and Technomarket Europe. Tickets are priced from 50, 60 and 80 leva, depending on allocation. The first 2 000 tickets will be released with a promotional price, although the two pages-long press statement fails to disclose what the discount actually is.
The ZZ Top show in Bulgaria will celebrate the band's 40 years of epic rock history. They have released 17 albums, but their longstanding history dates back to the distant 1969 when they were formed in Houston, Texas. The band members are Billy Gibbons (lead vocals, guitar), Dusty Hill (vocals, bass, keyboards), and Frank Beard (drums, percussion). ZZ Top have been together for four decades, and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
What is particularly outstanding about these southern rockers is that 40 years down the road, ZZ Top still comprises their original line-up.
In July 2008, the band announced they will be recording a new album with producer Rick Rubin.
Subsequently, The Eliminator Collector's Edition CD/DVD, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the band's iconic RIAA Diamond Certified album, was released on September 10 2008.
On February 19 2009 it was announced that ZZ Top will appear at the Download Festival held annually at Donington Park.
The show in Bulgaria is expected to have the same stage and set list as their recent shows in England, and when the band headlined the MMRBQ at the Susquehanna Bank Center - Camden, New Jersey.
ZZ Top rocks!!!
