Less than a week remains until Madonna's 15 August concert in Warsaw, but protests have already begun. Already, more than 20 000 letters have been sent to public figures, both in the government and those organising the concert, objecting both to the pop idol's performance and especially her concert date, which coincides with a Roman Catholic holiday celebrating the Virgin Mary's assumption to heaven.

A website has even been set up (www.protestuj.pl), which claims that "Madonna sneers at Jesus and Mary" and "offends Catholics", and allows users to download a letter of protest.

Sonia,
there's no telling gender here. People can post as anything.
I am amused by your comment though.
Every one has issues and pet hates.
I bet there's a Brit reading this thinking: "what asses those Bulgarians are".
There's an Asian reading this thinking, that Asians would never act so rudely to strangers...
There's a Bulgarian, like me thinking:
Why does Bulgaria attract all the Eurotrash?

You on the other hand, leave it on a whole gender - pet hate perhaps?;))

I wonder what word in the english language best describes those who critizises other national language speakers for trying to communicate with people in english,
Or what sort of person deviates from the main subject just to be critical of this effort.

Interesting that it is men who fall into this kind of low level slanging match. I confess myself appalled at the tone, vulgarity and ignorance of language and style shown here.

Before you correct me I KNOW this word should have been spelt NO

Anonymous Ivan Wed, Aug 12 2009 12:32 CET

Let me reply for Jon. David you can't write or spell English. I have know idea what you were trying to state but I guess it was offensive. Jon stated his choice (since when has this become a statement of being pc) and you'd have to be a real moron or "sheep" not to agree with his ideology. You get off your high "pedestal" as you sound like the pc advocator

Anonymous david Wed, Aug 12 2009 09:43 CET

shes over rated over paid, getting too old now to sing. but this from jon what do you want in your life you sound like a pc bregade man my personal choice all the time offencive my butt come off your high pedistal you sound like a preacher anyroad.if you write back to me thats offencive but do i care ,(not one thing.)

I often work over various religious holidays - It is my personal choice.

I have no regard whatsoever for the Roman Catholic church; and some serious reservations about other christian and non-christian religions - It is my personal choice.

I would not pay good money to see Madonna in concert - it is my personal choice.

It is abhorent and offensive for any group or individual to dictate to me what my personal or religious choices should be - that is an offence against my humanity.
