A former minister from the government of Sergey Stanishev is going to be charged within a few days over alleged violations.

Interior Minister, Tsvetan Tsvetanov, quoted in Trud Daily, has announced that a minister in the cabinet of former socialist prime minister Sergei Stanishev will be charged over alleged wrongdoing.

"We have the political will to overcome corruption among high-level officials within 3-4 months", Tsvetanov said. But Tsvetanov refused to divulge the name of the former minister concerned.

On Friday, the Sofia Prosecutor's Office brought formal charges against Stefan Yuroukov, the former head of the State Forestry Agency, making him the first former top official to be tried following Boiko Borissov's election victory in June.

Does it matter? They will name someone and charge them - followed by months of zero activity until everyone has forgoten about the matter.

How about Sofia Echo publishing a list of high profile and public interest arrests since say, year 2000. Ignoring any where charges were dismissed or the accused found innocent. Then write against this list what actions have been taken, and what the current stuation is. Would make interesting reading, and possibly give a gentle reminder to the authorities that there is work to do.
